There are two types of universities in the Netherlands: research-oriented higher education universities (WO) and universities of applied sciences (HBOs). There are over 2,100 English language programs in the Netherlands and it is also one of the best education systems in the EU!

Tuition fees in the Netherlands are more affordable, on average the price of undergraduate study is € 2,168.00, with a discount for the first year, so that the first year of undergraduate study is € 1,084.00. The price of the graduate study is € 2,168.00. The average cost of student life ranges from € 800.00 to € 1,000.00 per month which makes the Netherlands an affordable country to live in. Delft University of Technologies, better known as TU Delft, is the oldest and largest Dutch public technical university in the Netherlands. The university offers 16 undergraduate and over 35 graduate studies in the fields of science, engineering and design. TU Delft is also known for having the largest number of student associations in the Netherlands. Every day, about 27,000 people travel through campus: students, scientists, visitors, and employees of universities and companies on campus. Spread over 161 acres, the campus is larger than the center of Delft and is one of the largest university campuses in the world. The campus is equipped with an extensive network of bicycle and pedestrian roads. The TU Delft campus has a green, parked character. Large parts of the campus are therefore only accessible on foot, by bicycle or by public transport. For drivers, there is a campus ring road that runs around the entire campus. Clear markings on the campus ring easily lead you to central parking lots. From there, each destination can be reached on foot.

The University of Amsterdam (UvA) is a public science university and one of two large, publicly funded science universities in the city of Amsterdam (while the other is the Vrije Universiteit).
This is the oldest university in the Netherlands, founded in 1632, offers 200+ study programs, and classes take place on 4 campuses at different locations in Amsterdam. About 30,000 students, 6,000 staff and 3,000 PhD candidates study and work in a variety of academic fields.

Wageningen University Research is a public university in Wageningen in the Netherlands, specializing in technical and engineering subjects and an important center of life sciences and agricultural research. It is located in the Dutch region known as the Food Valley. The 70,000m2 campus itself has been selected as the most environmentally sustainable university in the Netherlands.

Collaborations with the private sector include work on topics such as Connected circularity , The protein transition, Digital twins, and research include Biodiversity, Climate change, Circular biobased economy, From hunger to food security, Nutrition and Health, Artificial intelligence.

Erasmus University is a public science university in Rotterdam, which is positioned in the top 100 universities with five leading rankings. It consists of 7 faculties in the fields of health, management, public administration and culture.

Leiden University was founded in 1575 by Prince Willem, this public science university in Leiden is ranked in the top 50 universities in the world for as many as 16 fields, some of which are anthropology, pharmacology , law and public administration, arts and humanities, and linguistics. Leiden University has produced as many as 21 Spinoza winners and 16 Nobel laureates, and the faculty buildings are spread across the city with the exception of a separate campus in The Hague. Students can enroll in one of over 50 undergraduate and over 100 graduate programs here.

The University of Groningen has a rich academic tradition dating back to 1614. So the first student and the first lecturer in the Netherlands, the first Dutch astronaut and the first president of the European Central Bank started from here. University alumni include four Nobel laureates, 9 Spinoza Prize winners, 1 Stevin Prize winner, members of the royal family, several mayors, the first President of the European Central Bank and the Secretary General of NATO. There are 11 faculties, 9 graduate schools, 27 research centers and institutes, and more than 175 study programs.

Utrecht University, this public science university is one of the oldest and leading universities and consists of 7 faculties: geological sciences, philosophy, law, economics and administration, medical school, natural sciences sciences, veterinary medicine and 3 interfaculty units: Utrecht University College, Roosevelt University College and the Center for Education and Learning (COLUU). In addition to a cultural center where students can discover and work on their talents through activities and workshops, the university campus is spread over 3 locations in Utrecht, and the offer of study programs in English includes dozens of undergraduate and 100+ graduate programs.

Maastricht University was founded in 1976, this public research university in Maastricht is the second youngest of thirteen Dutch universities and holds positions in the top 300 universities. In 2020, as many as 55% of students were foreign students.

The multidisciplinary aspect of the work of this university includes the application of scientific principles to solutions to social issues within its primary research topics. They are thus developing new methods for making plastics from organic materials, but they are also conducting migration research and considering methods to attract as many people as possible for the necessary financial preparations for retirement. The campus is located in two separate locations in Maastricht, one in the city center in historic buildings, and a modern new campus on the outskirts of the city.

Founded as Radboud Catholic University in Nijmegen, it is positioned on a 100-acre campus. The University Alumni counts 12 Spinoza Prize winners and 1 Nobel Prize winner (graphene inventor). Other notable alumni include former Dutch Prime Minister Dries van Agt, former Unilever President Marijn Emmanuel Dekkers and European Commission First Vice President Frans Timmermans. Former students have also won 3 Olympic medals since 2000 (rowing). The university contains faculties of art, law, medicine, management, theology, natural and social sciences.

University of Twente received its WO status in 1986, and before that in the 60’s as an HBO university it opened a campus between Enschede and Hengel as the first example of a university on campus in The Netherlands. It currently holds positions in the top 250 universities in the world. The focus of the university is to combine technology, science and engineering with the social sciences and the application of scientific discoveries to social examples.

Vrije University Amsterdam is one of two large, publicly funded scientific universities in Amsterdam. The translation of the name Vrije Universiteit is “Free University”, and “free” refers to the independence of the university from both the state and the Dutch Reformed Church. Although initially the campus was surrounded mainly by fields, it is now close to the modern business district of Zuidas with some of the largest banks, accounting and law firms in the Netherlands. Faculties and interdisciplinary research institutes include Behavioral and Movement Sciences; Dentistry, Earth and Life Sciences, Economics and Business Administration, Humanities, Law, Sciences, Social Sciences, Theology and VUmc School of Medical Sciences.

Eindhoven University of Technology is a public science university and is ranked in the top 200 world universities has 9 faculties: Biomedical Engineering, Built Environment, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Design, Chemical Engineering and Chemistry, Industrial Engineering & amp ; Innovation Sciences (formerly Technology Management), Applied Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science. The campus is located in the heart of one of the most powerful technology centers in the world, Brainport Eindhoven, and in terms of engineering and technology studies, Eindhoven University students are the best in the Netherlands.

Tilburg University was founded as a Roman Catholic School of Commerce, this university holds WO status with faculties in the fields of economics and management, law, humanities, social and behavioral sciences, and theology. The focus of the university is on social issues from different disciplines: the complexity of topics such as pensions and population aging, security, sustainability, the labor market and care.

The green campus is located on the west side of the city and contains over 650 individual and group workstations, some of which are located outside as well. Students can choose between 20+ undergraduate and over 50 graduate programs here.

‘Talent voor groei’ or talent for growth is what Aeres University of Applied Sciences, which has 3,500 students, represents. They belong to Aeres Groep, a green knowledge center that focuses on education, research and various commercial activities.

He offers his education on three campuses located in Almere, Dronten and Wageningen. Study programs and research at Almere contribute to a green and healthy urban environment where you can learn how to ensure that growing cities are liveable. Study programs at Dronten focus on agribusiness in all its aspects. ArtEZ University of Arts is an art academy in the Netherlands with more than 3,000 students. ArtEZ combines several art institutes and art disciplines with branches in Arnhem, Enschede and Zwolle. In its name A means Arnhem, E means Enschede, and Z means Zwolle. You can choose undergraduate and graduate studies in visual arts, architecture, fashion, design, music, theater, creative writing, dance and art education.

The basic principle of Avans University of Applied Sciences is rooted and springs from its social environment. The advance has been ranked as the best university of applied sciences in the Netherlands for 8 years in a row. It is located in 4 cities: Breda, ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Roosendaal and Tilburg. All 4 are located in the province of Noord-Brabant in the south of the Netherlands.

Breda University of Applied Sciences (BUas) is a Dutch university of applied sciences located in Breda. More than 7,000 Dutch and foreign students from over 80 countries study at BUas. The Institute offers professional and academic undergraduate and graduate programs in the fields of games, media, hospitality, facilities, logistics, built environment, tourism and leisure and events. The five academies at Breda University of Applied Sciences are the Academy of Digital Entertainment (ADE), the Academy of Leisure (AfL), the Academy of Tourism (AvT), the Academy of Hospitality and Facilities Management (HFM), the Academy of Urban Development and Logistics and Mobility (AUDLM). Fontys University of Applied Sciences is a Dutch university of applied sciences with more than 44,000 students on several campuses in the southern Netherlands. The three largest Fontys campuses are located in the cities of Eindhoven, Tilburg and Venlo. The name Fontys comes from the Latin word “fons” which means “source” so Fontys wants to emphasize that they represent a source of knowledge for students. Fontys offers undergraduate and graduate study programs in the fields of economics, technology, health care, social work, sports, and teacher training.

HAN University is one of the largest universities of applied sciences in the Netherlands. It offers bachelor’s, master’s and graduate programs for more than 36,000 students. HAN is located in the Dutch province of Gelderland, with campuses in Arnhem and Nijmegen and a research center in Doetinchem. Areas such as economics, management, education, health, ICT and technology are covered, and participants are offered more than 150 postgraduate programs and practice-based courses. This also includes internships, projects and final theses.

Hanze University is the largest technical and vocational university in the northern Netherlands and is located in Groningen. It offers programs in Dutch, English and German and collaborates with international partner institutions. The main facilities are in Groningen, with several smaller ones in Amsterdam (Dance Academy), Assen (Hansa Technical Institute) and Leeuwarden (Pop Culture).

HU University of Applied Sciences fourth largest university in the Netherlands was founded in 1995 and offers 100 programs, some of which are entirely in English. In 2021, the Celsius student team won three awards at the Solar Decathlon Build Challenge held by the U.S. Department of Energy. Studying at HU means studying in a beautiful medieval city in the heart of the Netherlands, Utrecht is a real student city and hosts more than 70,000 students from 125 countries.

On the first virtual meeting, we discuss your achieved academic success so far and find the field of study that interests you, the city were you want to study, what are the financing options (eg. scholarships, student loans, government supplements) and other important information about The Netherlands.

Choosing the right program for you!

After the consultation, we make a personalised list of faculty programs that best suit your profile, and which we further narrow down according to your preferences, possibilities, but also wishes.

Selection of the desired program, faculty and evaluation of documentation

When we create a list with the four faculty programs of your choice, we will continue the enrolment process for those programs. Additionally, we will provide you with the deadlines and conditions for your enrollment.

Gathering all the necessary documentation

When you decide what program you want to enroll, all the documentation should be collected at once: CV, motivation letter, transcript of grades, English language certificate, awards and certificates and other documents.

Mentoring your writing of a motivation letter and CV

In order for your application to differ from the thousands sent, we will provide you with the guidelines that will help you distinguish yourself. It is extremely important to write a good and personalised motivation letter, have a professor’s recommendation and a good CV.

Sending your applications to universities

Once the application has begun, the faculty office will first send a conditional acceptance of the application when it determines that most of the documents are in order, but the application is completed when the office sends an unconditional acceptance.

Preparing future student for potential interviews

Some programs require an online or offline interview prior to the unconditional acceptance of a candidate application, and we prepare you for that as well.

Fun facts and general information about The Netherlands

After the potential acceptance letter from several university programs, it is up to you to decide which one to choose and arrange the accommodation, and then you can finally move to The Netherlands.
